We’ve uncovered a secret wine. We think the Cracka Wines 2013 Mystery 95 Point Coonawarra Cabernet is the Allegiance Wines The Foreman Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.
As both descriptions will tell you, this wine has a palate of blackcurrant and mulberry fruit flavours along with hints of chocolate and spice. Subtle oak leads into savoury tannins that provide balance and structure. This is an elegant wine with a smooth finish.
A typical Coonawarra Cabernet, this would match well with slow cooked shoulder of lamb or Osso Bucco.
James Halliday hands over 86 points describing it as having ‘plenty of upfront flavour’.
Huon Hooke gives a similar score with 88 points and calls it ‘a chunky wine’.
Vivino users give it 3.4 stars, so it sounds like a pleasing drop.
It retails for $25.00 direct from the winery, but under its cloak of mystery, it will set you back just $12.99. That’s a good old saving of over $10 and presents great value for money.
3.5 stars all the way for this offer.
