Behold, a 92 point Shiraz that will make the perfect pizza night partner.
Introducing The Black Chook Shiraz 2014. Made from parcels of fruit sourced from both McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek by Ben Riggs who is well versed when it comes to Shiraz from this part of the world and a man who always turns out excellent interpretations of Shiraz.
This wine is no exception. This is a medium to full-bodied wine with a rich dense palate of predominately blackberry jam, roasted nuts and toasty like flavours. It has a discreet fruit sweetness and a very long finish.
Campbell Mattinson of The Wine Front gives this wine 88 points and reckons it’s ‘value is above average’.
Huon Hooke awards it 92 points stating that it is ‘outstanding value’ and ‘a very impressive shiraz for its price’.
Price wise, it does represent good value for money at $18 RRP. You’ll be even more excited to know that we’ve found it for $11.00 a bottle which takes this wine to a whole new level in the value stakes. It’s a minimum 12 bottle buy, but if you like a good mid week quaffer then stocking up on this might not be a bad way to go!
An uncomplicated drop, exceptional value, and perfect for your next BBQ or pizza night.
